Labor Day Weekend
September 4th – September 6th 2020
The goal of the festival is to provide entertainment and enjoyment to our spectators, bring visitors to our community, and share our profits with local charities. Over the years an average of 35,000 spectators per year visit our valley to enjoy the festival.
The success of prior festivals made it possible to share profits with local charities and organizations.
The beauty of an early morning flight is breathtaking as balloons gracefully float over our valley. The thrill of a mass evening launch is a real crowd pleaser. For those passengers taking their first flight, wonderful thoughts and memories will long endure.
Though we are one of the largest events of its type, The New York Festival of Balloons, is a great deal more than hot air balloons. Take a look at the SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for this coming Labor Day Weekend and you will agree that there is something for everyone all weekend long at the NYSFOB

Dansville’s Allen family, daredevils and innovators, provide the heritage that has lifted Dansville’s original Greit Balloon Rallye from its humble beginnings in 1982 to its designation as The New York State Festival of Balloons by NYS Legislature in 1997.
The three day event averages 30,000 plus in attendance. The volunteer staff organize the Labor Day Weekend annual event that includes 6 scheduled hot air balloon launches. Rides available at all launches. The event is held at the Dansville Airport off Rt. 36. The daily $5 admission (children under 12 free) includes art & craft vendors, an international food court plus entertainment by a variety of popular regional bands. Attractions for children include inflatable rides and games ($). Local clubs and service organization join the 100 plus vendors. Some local groups provide services for the festival and receive a stipend.
Since 1990 the Dansville Festival of Balloons has donated over $100,000 back to the area. Join us Labor Day Weekend starting Friday evening 4pm – Sunday evening ‘til dusk for the New York State Festival of Balloons.
